UK born and based, David was brought up musically in the Disco era with his parents listening to Leo Sayer and ABBA, but soon he progressed to music of his own choice and started listening the electronic music such as Depeche Mode, Malcolm McLaren & Kraftwerk,

In his teens he diversed a little and went through a mad skate metal period of Pantera, Sepultura & Suicidal Tendencies

His clubbing days started out when he was 15 when he would visit many big UK clubs to watch dj's like Healey, Humphries, and Whitehead and listen to many of pioneering tunes that were played.

Darkdrum was started in 2001 when David was DJing in places such as Turnmills in London, Sanctuary in B'Ham and several Stately Homes Party Nights.

He decided to hang up the DJ Needles whilst he concentrated on the production side of music.

For the next couple of years David built up "Darkdrum Recordings" and his studio.

He has taught himself on sequencer packages such as Cubase / Logic / Reason / Alberton, and twiddled many a knob on his hardware and software synths and drum machines, and soon put together his own catalogue of progressive house/trance sounds.

He produces and remix's various styles of music but his passion is for progressive house and trance, and in 2005 he started sending his work out to the labels, with great response.

David has remixed for the likes of Mike Efex, John Huijbers, Team Skeme, Jacinta, Milissa, Colin McNeil, The Lazy Boyz and Indus.

2007 saw David's debut solo release "Arabian Nights" supported by Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Andy Moor, Matt Darey, Gareth Emery, Blank & Jones, Flash Brothers, Mark Pledger and many more, and was released by Armada Music / Coldharbour in the September that year and was tune of the week on Markus's Global DJ Broadcast show.
